This is a presentation on risk communication research related to the understanding the need for and approach to tailored health risk communication about wildfire smoke.
Description:
The presentation shares findings from a 2020 publication that examines perspectives on the issue of wildfire smoke using Smoke Sense data. Cluster analysis reveal 5 distint cluster trait perspectives, and that demographics are not a major factor in defining cluster membership. The clusters are compared to stages of the Precaution Adoption Process Model to identify the messaging content that may be salient to each group.
